Do you wake up sore, sluggish, or generally unmotivated? Well I have a super quick muscle morning wake up routine for you! Feel invigorated, wake up, reduce soreness, and jump start your day with this simple, quick 6 minutes morning stretch and muscle activation! This dynamic stretching and activation routine gets all your muscles moving and stretched, ready for the day. So grab your coffee, or roll out of bed, and lets get moving!
Why?
When we sleep, the lack of movement can make us stiff and sore. If you already have chronic soreness or joint and back pain, as so many of us do, then doing this small, morning stretch routine that activates your muscles can help decrease that soreness. Who wants a little less pain in their day? *Raises hand.* Simple stretches, such as hamstring stretching, can reduce back pain by helping to elongate the muscles that get tight in the night. Muscle activation also increases blood flow around stiff and painful joints and muscles, and that heats them up and reduces pain. The increased blood flow also helps wake you up, and jump starts your metabolism for the day, helping increase your energy!
But….
Waking up and jumping right into a “workout” is hard. Yep it is. But think about how you will feel throughout the day. Is it worth 6 minutes in the morning for a day of feeling just a little bit better? Sometimes, it is not always about these HUGE efforts with HUGE results. Sometimes just doing a little more than the bare minimum is enough. Sometimes you just have to force yourself to do it. And you will be glad you did.
